I've got a few episodes left of Shameless season 7, then I'll be caught up for the new season.

Been really enjoying Son of Zorn on FOX, the one about the animated warrior from Zephyria who moves to the live-action suburbs to raise his half-animated son. It's one of my new favorite comedies.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 12 has been amazing so far. In the season premiere, "The Gang Turns Black", and it was incredibly racist and one of the best things I've eve... Continue »

Thanks to @tommix for this recommendation in which he described as a Terminator rip-off of sorts. Sure, they both came out the same year, but they have some definite similarities. Both movies start in dystopian futures in which a man is sent back to protect the ancestor(s) of important future figures. Both sent back to mid-80s Los Angeles!

Trancers has some cool sci-fi stuff, laser guns, a fight with a possessed Santa, a time-stopping watch, hoboes, and more. I haven't seen a lot of Charles B... Continue »

How do you feel about the ongoing sagas that we've been watching for years, such as Star Wars, Alien, Blade Runner, etc? Do you think they're legitimately good, or do you think they cater to the 'member-berry crowd who wants to relive the positive aspects of their youth?

I'm probably the kind of guy who'll enjoy anything that's even slightly canon with one of my beloved franchises. Some film series will spiral out of control with their sequels, but some expand upon great ideas. I'll always welcome a sequel, so long as it respects the original. Continue »

Okay, so I could have put this in Horror Shorts thread or even the NSFW thread. But this is awesome enough to have its own thread. Continue »

To any users who add movies here, you'll notice the API stopped working for it. That's because those greedy bastards decided to charge $1 a month for that service, and I need that money for beer!

No worries though. Johan and Foz have added as shitload of movies, and probably burned themselves out by now. While they're catching their breath, I'll be trying to make a new import feature. It wont be as direct, since it'll have to go through more channels, such as through an API before it can scre... Continue »

Up until last week I use to have all my DVDs in cardboard boxes, hidden away, out of sight, out of mind. I started to feel guilty about spending so much money and time over the years, constructing a decent collection - only to conceal it. So, I decided to get organized and went and bought a pretty big shelving unit from a well-known furniture retailer and filled it with all my DVDs. I had no idea that I had so many DVDs, well I did know that I had alot - but not this many. I had never had them a... Continue »

Why haven't we tried this before? Oh, that's right... because it's really hard to define what is "scary" and what is "creepy" and what is "horror" in general... So for the sake of this post, scary and/or creepy counts. Whatever scares you is good enough.

We have plenty of users who have seen a wide variety of horror films, so we can sift through the cliche films that lightweights would list and get some more solid results.

If you rewatch a scary movie so many times, you get used to it. At... Continue »

image I own a lot of movies in quite a few different cases. Most are simple, your standard keep cases. Others are different and not used often, but they're clever. And then some are different and not used often, because they suck. Whoever designed them must have been out of their mind to think anyone would enjoy storing movies in them. I have three to present from my own collection. They're sets, which partially explains the nutty cases. Continue »

The Prophecy (1995) has been on cable lately, so I have watched most of it over the course of this week, in bits and pieces. I mostly like the movie, but it has got me thinking about Christopher Walken.

When did he become the icon he has been for so long?? Does anyone know, or remember, when he started getting really popular? At some point he sort of became a caricature of himself... I am not even saying that that's a bad thing, I always like seeing him in everything I've seen him in.... Continue »

Holy shit! If I suddenly kill myself, this is why! Chris Cornell was one of my absolute favorite artists out there. Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, and even a good solo career. Hell, I even liked his R&B album, but "Euphoria Morning" has got to be in my top-10 albums of all time.

What horrible news to wake up to. emoticon

Big news! Netflix has announced they will be adding a new series titled The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance. It is a prequel to the original 1982 movie The Dark Crystal. I love The Dark Crystal, and I am very excited for this! Here's the trailer.

I figured there isn't enough giant ant movies out there, so I thought i'd share this trailer.

Yes it's based on a video game.

Selling DVD's is a waste of time. All the listing and fees and mailing for a dollar or two profit.

Their is a place near me called Grindhouse Video and this guy take store credit for DVD's, I am thinking about purging a shitload of my "watched it once" horror movies for some box set.

Anyone else ever wonder what do with our "watched once" dvd's?

the actual movie?

Personally not only i avoid watching movie trailers, because it's always a risk if they are going to reveal too much to the point of ruining the movie, but sometimes i will even avoid reading the synopsis so that i will dive in completely blind.

no, not the mid nineties black comedy with Cam Diaz n Ron Perlman, but the short prequel to Covenant directed by Ridley's son Luke Scott. Since the new Alien film opened here yesterday thought i may as well post it, even though anyone with any intrest in the franchise has probably already seen it. But for those who haven't, can Danny Mac go 5mins without a dick joke? let's find out...

Check this out, one of the "bitches" from that scene has been responding to comments, on a clip of that scene on YouTube. Look at the responses to the comments, down below the video. Her name is Diane Robin. Her most recent response that I can find is from just two months ago, so, maybe she would still respond, if one of us posted something.

There are quite a lot of names synonymous with old school Italian Horror and Exploitation. Fulci, Bava, Deodato, to name a few. Depending on your taste, and how ghoulish you might be, you probably favor one over all others. I appreciate many movies from all who contributed to this era. But I've got to admit, I've always been on the D'Amato bandwagon. One of his films in particular made an impression on me at an early age. At around 13 I rented a... Continue »

It seems that zombie movies are dime a dozen and offer little in the way of originality and imagination so it is always refreshing to see a zombie flick that attempts to bring new ideas into the exhausted sub-genre. Today, I am going to talk about a film that I seen three years ago and still haunts me to this day. I was bored and weary and I decided to watch, what I... Continue »

So 1978 is my answer every time someone asks what is the best single year in horror. I don't think it is even close really. Not only does it have 2 juggernauts one of which is my favorite horror film of all time it has several excellent to solid films as well.

Dawn of the Dead
Halloween
Grapes of Death
Martin
Long Weekend
Piranha
I Spit on Your Grave
Toolbox Murders
Alucarda
Magic
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Blue Sunshine
Patrick
The Fury
Mountain of the Cannibal God

Dawn of the Dead is Zombi, because Zombi 2 needed to start somewhere, right?

Army of Darkness should have been called The Medieval Dead, but I do believe it's known as Captain Supermarket somewhere...

Blood Shack has The Chooper

Phantasm was known as The Never Dead somewhere?

Halloween III was... Continue »

I was just thinking, one of the reasons that 976-EVIL doesn't quite work is that on some level, watching it, you sort of have to expect that Marty Palmer will turn out to be the main character. He's the investigator from Modern Miracles magazine, who shows up to investigate the rain of fish, but ends up investigating the evil Mark Dark and his company that runs 976-EVIL, along with some other scam 976 numbers.

On some level, watching the movie, I think it is easy to get a little torn and con... Continue »

Hitchhiking is just one of those things that was once common in America, but is now as dead as the Drive-In. It once seemed like a perfectly reasonable way of getting from point A to point B, but nowadays, hitchhiking is more something one might only attempt in the case of an emergency. An understandable change. It was only a matter of time, anyway. As the population grew, naturally, the number of killers and rapists would grow with it. Today... Continue »
