Let's say you are up for a double feature viewing and you get to pick a mainstream movie and a B movie. The catch is both movies have to be an equivalent to each other story-wise. For example, Jaws would be the mainstream and Mako: The Jaws of Death would be it's equivalent.

In 2008, Iron Man kicked off this "Marvel Cinematic Universe" aka the MCU, and it's gone in phases. The first season was fun. It was great to see Bruce come back to our favorite role of his, and the show caters to the fans. General horror fans, that is, which is kind of a niche market these days. It had Ash at his stupidest, and best, it had gore and deadites all the time, and fuckin' LEE MAJORS.

If you had to identify a few major, overriding trends in horror movies from this decade, what would you say? In the last decade (2000's) vampire and zombie movies were particularly prominent, of course. These have tapered a bit lately, IMHO... there is certainly room for discussion on that point, but that's my take.

It seems like something I would like and I was considering blind buying V (1983 miniseries), V: The Final Battle (1984) and V: The Series (1984-1985) and wanted to know has anyone here seen these? What did you think of them?

I've seen a lot of talk on the Horror board and here over the years about how much it sucks that the video stores died out, but the same thing kinda happened to Arcades too, right? I have the Blu-ray of Red Ring of Fear and hopefully will get to it tomorrow night. I have seen the movie but it was a poor and probably cut release under the title Virgin Terror.

What a load of hooey. If you watch a lot of DVD extras, I'm sure you've noticed that every single actress who has ever been interviewed has described her character as being strong. If they're especially obnoxious, they'll probably also say that you don't see many strong female characters in movies. I went for both Deathly Hallows films and honestly wish I had done the same for the previous ones. Practically everyone attending was a die-hard Potter fan and sooo many of them dressed up for it w/ Hogwarts student costumes from all the different houses... there were even a few ppl dressed as the Death Eaters. :D
Great fun.. plus it was nice being able to chat with ppl that actually read the books as well. (As much as i enjoy most of the Potter films, I've always preferred the books..)
