I've been trying to remember the name of a movie I watched a few years ago. I would love to rewatch it, but I've forgotten the title. I thought it was The Changeling (1980) now I don't think it is.

It's from the 70's or 80's. Same in tone as The Changeling. The scene I remember most involves a man going to see a psychic. He and some other people hold a seance. I'm pretty sure the psychic is an old woman. Anyway, she starts to levitate out of the room and gets thrown down the stairs.

I have been trying to watch movies all morning, but I keep zoning out. Not sure if I start daydreaming or get so involved with my work that I lose track of what the hell is going on. I must have hit the rewind button 50 or more times now.

One minute people are talking, the next thing I know everyone in the film is dead.

I remember when I was a kid being scared to death of going up the stairs at night. I always felt like someone was watching me. That feeling would intensify to the point I’d start running up the the stairs to my room and do a flying leap into the bed. Not only were the stairs a problem , I couldn’t risk something grabbing me from under the bed too! I still get creeped out a bit over the stair thing.

I missed it in theaters, but I watched it last night. Funny movie. On a first viewing, I'd hold it right up there with the first one. Now, rather than reviewing it, I figure I'll just post this clip of one of my favorite scenes:

And oh, what a month, huh? Everybody likes October because we go all out on horror movies. I mean, isn't that what life is all about? Especially here at Trash Epics. They gross me out. My room is more like an added on enclosure, and it's not always sealed well. Bugs get in. Some stupid... some disgusting. I don't mind the dirt dobbers so much, because they're clumsy stupid fuckers that go SPLAT when I hit them with my shoes. Is it just me, or was this man one of the greatest actors to ever live? Sure, he usually played a drunk, but every movie he was ever in was made significantly better by his presence.

How 'bout those Brownrigg movies? Hopefully, I'm not the only fan out there who sees him as more than just the guy who made 1973's Don't Look In The Basement. Sure. Oftentimes I'll read reviews for a movie that I've seen, and see that most of them complain about how terrible the acting is. And I have to admit, at least 95% of the time, I have no idea what they're talking about. Maybe it's because I mostly watch B movies, but I very rarely notice bad acting. For me to be distracted by bad acting, it has to really really bad. Like grade school play level bad. Like "Flesh Eating Mothers" bad. Does bad acting make much of a difference to you?

Take a look at this shit. Our man James Gunn went from Troma to Disney, and they fired him. He'll no longer direct their sci-fi/space Marvel movie sequel, because of some rape joke he made 10 years ago.

Like sfpx pointed out, "Unsane" is also an alternate title of "Tenebre", but we'll forgive 'em. It is a good name for a movie, and Tenebre obviously didn't want the name enough, since it opted to be called just that. "Tenebre". Tenebrae? Well, whatever. This has nothing to do with that movie, but that's still a good movie.

Today was the last day "A Quiet Place" is playing at my theater, so I gave it a go. I tried once before, to no avail, as I had to leave because the audience wouldn't shut the fuck up, but no worries. Not like I'm paying for this shit anyway...

Just saw this for the first time, oddly enough. Not too shabby. It's definitely more "by the numbers" than the first, riding that post-Freddy '80s horror bandwagon turning the killer equal parts unstoppable and totally quippable. The Stepfather is truly a real creep and weirdo. These movies probably wouldn't be nearly as entertaining without Terry O'Quinn's acting chops, though.
