When I think of Richard Jordan, the first thing that comes to mind is probably Dune (1984). He played Duncan Idaho in that. It is interesting to me to note how quickly he aged, before and after that movie.

Look at him in Logan's Run (1976). I think the character he was playing was probably supposed to be in his early twenties, or maybe even late teens. So, that might explain why he came across as seeming young, he was probably pulling out the stops, acting-wise, to seem as young as possib... Continue »

I watched Ace Ventura again not too long ago. Jim Carrey is wild in that movie, but bearably wild, unlike the sequel, which is cringe-worthy. But as an eccentric, he also seems to go overboard when he finds out the truth about Finkle and Einhorn.

I Know All there is to know about the crying game... Continue »

This is probably literally the last place on the entire internet where I should be seeking medical advice. I know that. BUT aaaaanywho, has anyone here had to figure this shit out recently? Like, this winter? If you have spent time thinking about it recently maybe you have something constructive to say. Don't worry, I will try to double check anything you say, but if anybody has recent personal experience dealing with these things, here is your big chance to share any wisdom you may have...... I've been reworking the look of the site a bit, so if you head to the bottom of the page, you can now select different themes for your TE experience. It's like the picture background stuff, which I've tried to mostly retain, but it also affects fonts and a few other details. Try it out. See what you like, and tell me what needs improvement.

I'm reading two. I don't normally read two at time, but since one is a film book, it's easy for me to go back and forth between the two.

Regional Horror Films 1958-1990: A State By State Guide With Interviews
Thank you to Psychobeatnik for making me aware of this. Really interesting read, there's films in here I've never heard of.

Guy N Smith's Bats Out Of Hell British killer bats book. It's a fun little read. Bats infected with virus are loose in England, biting peop... Continue »

So in a world of near infinite media outlets, I daily find myself struck but what people think and where they get their information from. So I have a couple of questions for the site.

First of all who knows who I'm talking about in the title?

Second, where do you get your news?

Third, how many hours a week do you listen to or think about news/current events

Fourth, how's your day going?

There are 11 participants and since no one objected to my suggestion, we will have 3 participants in three of the KOs. Names were picked out using a randomer (not independently verified but you will just have to trust me). So please select whose list you prefer the most. Tell us why. The semis will take place on Tuesday, so you have two days to catch up on some music.

Aka "Aerobicide", Killer Workout starts off with a bang. We have someone getting burned by a tanning bed, right off the bat. It's like that Final Destination shit, only better. Then, we jump right into the best reason to watch this movie... to watch these women exercise.

So as a 25 year old white straight christian male, and brace your self for this, sometime I feel marganalized. Don't get me wrong, I know I was lucky to grow up middle class in sub-urban America. I lived in an affluent neighborhood, and yes I was born white and male. What get's me though is that someone how like 40% of the country thinks anything I do is not because of me but because of my identity they want to assign to me. I have the same issue with affermative action in many respects. I don't... Continue »

For the past couple of months @box has been showing me the Rocky movies. I had never watched them before; and believe me, I am kicking myself in the ass for waiting this long to watch them. I loved every single moment of these movies. I am not a sports person, and usually do not like to watch any movies in which a sport is the main focus. But I gave it a shot and never looked back. This is definitely a series in which I hope continues, but if Creed II is the last one, then I am satisfied with th... Continue »

So here it what I propose.

In the future I would like to have a draft going on regularly. More than one may be to much at first, but we may go up as the crowds grow.

So here's my proposal. We should create a single thread that will at as a queue for moderators/hosts to sign up and tell everyone what kind of draft they want to run. Once someone signs up they will then be added to the queue and we go in sequencial order, one, or maybe two, at a time. I've really enjoyed this music draft a... Continue »

People turn to all sorts of things in order to maintain or gain the strength it sometimes takes to make it in this world. Drugs is a big one. Crime in general. Some people get creative, or at least they stumble upon something a little more on the unconventional side. Today's story is about a human doormat who has been shat upon far too long. A born loser who has inadvertently ended up with a strength and determination he probably never imagined to be... Continue »

Over the years there have been so pretty funny, risque', or downright weird commercials out there. Sometimes, they are even better than the program currently being watched. I thought it would be fun to have a commercial thread where everyone can post their favorites. We have a theater, a trailer thread, a music thread, a tv theme show thread, so why not one dedicated to commercials? Here's one of my favoritesemoticon

The Trash Epics Theater is now reopened. Unfortunately, we have to rebuild. As some of you may know there's a bit of a war going on with YouTube these days. We have to constantly repair and rebuild the links that they remove. The full removal of the theater that I just did will be the one and only time. It was for us to start fresh. YouTube has an agenda against all things horror. It's up to all of us to keep the thea... Continue »

Anybody excited to see the return of Shaft? Now there's a movie I never expected to happen. I was impressed to see the Rocky series is 42 years old and still kicking (punching?), but the Shaft series is 48 years old! Richard Roundtree did a few movies and a tv series in the early 70s, but then he took a few decades off, only to return in 2000s "Shaft", in which Sam Jackson plays original Shaft's nephew, and real Shaft is also in that movie, making it totes legit. Hell, that movie even had Isaac Hayes, notable for doing that great theme song that talks about how much of a bad-ass Shaft is. Daaaamn right! Continue »
