I can't really post any footage because the trailer for this 30 minute Netflix film will spoil everything, but this shit is pretty funny. David Harbour plays himself investigating his father's shitty Frankenstein melodrama teleplay, which reeks of old Dark Shadows vibes. Imagine VHS footage, lousy commercials, arrogant thesbianism, gothic sets, and inept plot twists. That's Frankenstein's Monster...'s Monster, Frankenstein!

I haven't posted this in a long time. It just cracks me up, it's one of my favorite short videos on Youtube. I will really bum out whenever they eventually take it down. If you haven't seen it before, just make sure you pay attention to what is happening for the first three and a half minutes or so. If you do, the last thirty seconds could be one of the funniest things you've seen in a long time. It is for me, anyway. And, somehow the Spanish subtitles make it all even funnier.

What are your top three performances by an actor or actress? It doesn't have to be just in movies. Whatever you feel is your top three and an honorable mention if you have one.

My top 3
1. Kathy Bates in Misery (1990)
2. Charlize Theron in Monster (2003)
3. Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)

Honorable Mention

David Bowie in The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976)

I finished season 2 earlier today and might say I liked it more than season 1.

s2e01 - The Impressionist - directed by Armand Mastroianni
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0716989/

A guy who's good at impressions is asked by top secret government officials to attempt communication with an alien that crash landed on earth. The alien itself is pretty goofy looking, but it goes through the motions. Eventually, it's revealed that the government wants to learn about its fusion power so... Continue »

I guess this post has to do with books more than anything else. Whatever.

There's an old Stephen Vincent Benet short story that I think many of us were forced to read in school, at some point. It goes by two different titles in different anthologies and collections, either By the Waters of Babylon, or In the Place of the Gods. It was written back in the 1930s, before nuclear weapons... that's important, for understanding the story.

Anyway, many of us were forced to read it against our will,... Continue »

So I am making a turn-based strategy game. Box is helping me with minor programing and the story. It is set in a post-apocalyptic ice desert. The earth has stopped spinning due to liberals outlawing fossil and nuclear fuels and to many giant windmills creating drag on the earth's rotation. I've made a lot of progress since not being able to go anywhere, but I am a programmer, not an artist. So I'm looking for a graphic designer to do some very basic design work. If anyone here is interested in g... Continue »

I think I have already talked about this at some point, but I think it was on IMDB... well, whatever.

Any current or former Christopher Pike fans here? He was pretty popular among younger readers in the late 80s, and through the 90s. Like, early teen and general teen readers, not as young as the R.L. Stine readership... Was anyone here ever a fan, maybe many years ago? Or, you could have found a cousin's or older siblings copies of the books lying around somewhere, in this century, and gott... Hey, it's Christmastime everyone - there needs to be a Christmas themed horror movie thread here at Trash Epics, right? RIGHT???

So this is it here. Post whatever you want about Christmas horror movies.

With Christmas being my favorite holiday, and horror being my favorite movie genre, it would only make sense that, when the two merge together, it has the potential to cure CANCER. No, I'm kidding. Just thought it'd be funny to say "CANCER" in a holiday-themed thread.

I love this time... Continue »

I met a woman a few weeks ago and we've been talking on the phone almost every night since. She keeps telling me I'm good looking, which sounds phony because I know I'm not. She said I looked like Ray Romano. She keeps saying how much we have in common. She claims to like horror movies. She claimed to like science projects. We've talked countless times now but she never manages to talk about anything that's relevant to anything. Just a lot of crap about people she knows and people she's wor... Continue »

It was last week when I got into a discussion how realistic or not a movie like Eden Lake (2008) is.

To those who love it as in being truly shocked and down (some for days) after seeing the flick the arguments are:
- could happen to anyone
- it feels realistic and believable

To the first point yes it could even though I don't think most would react or take action like the couple, especially the guy did really many things that were far fetched.

To the second point I think there were way too ma... Continue »

It is going to start Monday the 6th at 12:00 local time and will run until midnight of the 6th of May (Or the end of the month not sure if this will confilt with anyt... Continue »

Now that Tromafreak mentioned the movie in his top 100 (calling it the best horror from the last 20 years or one of the best) and it's still in the running in the movie KO on MovieMeter, again a certain question popped up. One I have been wondering about not long after I had seen the movie the first (and still the only) time.

I had been critical of the movie. I reckon it is shocking. And I must say I was into it until about 45-50 minutes. I'm not saying it was great but it kept me curious enoug... Continue »

Some people are crazy nerds about this series. I'm a moderate. However, I can appreciate some of its merits and visuals, and I wanted to make something for this "holiday". Hopefully, this shit works for you, and if it doesn't, you probably need to update your browser:

So, I just read that there is going to be a Tiger King tv series. At first, I thought it was a joke, but nope it's true. The best part is that Nicolas Cage will be playing Joe Exotic! I'll be watching this one. I can't wait to see how Cage plays Joe. I wonder who will be playing Carole Fucking Baskin? This is going to be amazing! emoticon

Today I watched the most recent Nancy Drew film. It came out last year, and I have to say I really liked it. Growing up, I was a huge Nancy Drew fan. I read all of the books, and the series is the reason I fell in love with mysteries. So naturally, I am drawn to any adaption of this series. The first one I watched came out in 2007, and it was good, but it was only loosely based on the book. They created their own mystery with the character. And I loved it. I watched it all the time, and wanted t... Continue »

I hate movies in the DCU, which constitutes all this Justice League continuity garbage. They had potential, but they squandered it when they turned Suicide Squad into a PG-13 plotless piece of shit. Somehow, that movie made Harley Quinn an icon. Maybe it's because Margot Robbie is sexy? Maybe it's because comic superfans have a raging hard-on for the character? Either way, that movie revitalized her notoriety and deemed a sequel/spin-off as a necessary endeavor. Why? Because why not? The DCU has... Continue »

I was just thinking, the 90s don't get much respect when it comes to horror. But, what about horror comedies?? Consider that the 90s gave us Army of Darkness, Cemetery Man, and Braindead. I mean, wow. And, some people might stick the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie in there too. And arguably Friday the 13th Part 9, Jason Goes to Hell.... that is far less of a comedy than the other movies I'm mentioning here, but I would say it's probably the 3rd funniest of the franchise, after parts 6 and 1... Everything on the news is Covid this, Corona that. Quarantine, social distancing, blah blah blah. Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of hearing it. So what have you been doing in this economical downtime? Please, ramble on and tell us how you've been wasting your time, because I really do want to hear it! I can ramble on and on about what... Continue »

Alllll righty then, we have the coronavirus to worry about. Beautiful. Just... beautiful. It sounds like, over the course of this month, things should get a hell of a lot scarier. So, what better time to watch horror movies, or sci-fi movies, dealing with plagues, or general viral outbreaks? Or TV shows, or books... I'm not being too picky here. Just generally any kind of story we can find out there that has some kind of plague going on. What comes to mind for you? I'll throw out a few.... Continue »

"Airplanes...ha! Why it's against the Creator's will. If the Creator wanted us to fly, he'd have given us wings."

But we fly. Maybe some of you remember an even sillier remark:

Silly? Certainly. We were not born with wings, we were not born with wheels. But in the modern world of today it's an accepted fact that we must have t... Continue »
