From 1976. The idea of this episode was that everyone thought there was a ghost running amok in these people's house, but it was actually a girl who didn't really know that she had telekinesis, and was causing all kinds of mayhem via her unconscious mind, as she slept. The commentary here says it was inspired by The Exorcist, but of course it had to be at least partly inspired by Carrie. The family name of the telekinetic girl is Cory. I mean, come on.

check this out, this is a great resource. You can find enough short stories and novellas on this page to keep you happily reading for the rest of your life. I was looking for a webpage or blog about 90s horror authors, novels, and short stories, which I know very little about. But I found this... good enough for me.

Hey guys, I am just curious about something. Recently I had my mom 'borrow' some of my medicine and use it herself. I found out this morning, and called her on it. She said she had every right to take it because she needed it, and she was going to replace it. I was completely pissed off, and told her that under no circumstances should anyone take anyone else's medicine, and I got called selfish and told that I was overreacting, and she did nothing wrong. I guess what I am saying is do you guys t... Continue »

We have a tear-off Calendar with at the back of each page jokes, sayings, information about celebrations, traditions etc. When the 11th November started tearing of the 10th November page there was this joke on the back side

Translated from Dutch language

A Cannibal once asked an army officer who was eating the enormous amount of human flesh of the victims of the wars.
The officer explained that white people did not eat human flesh.
The cannibal shouted: What? You are really barbaric! You kill... Continue »

I'm not sure if anyone here has seen any of the AHS seasons, but I am a huge fan of this show! Most seasons are really good, my least favorite would have to be Roanoke. Anyways, whenever they announced that season 9 was going to be an 80's slasher theme I was totally excited! 80's slasher movies are one of my favorites!

@Pick & I were able to watch the first episode on Thursday and I was really impressed. The acting was cute & cheesy like a normal 80's slasher. I think they have

Interpret this as question as you will. You can tell that the media has a political agenda in almost anything they say or do. You know Hollywood has an agenda based on representing minorities or Oscar-baits or whatever the fuck there is inbetween. Everyone has an agenda, so to keep things phrased more simply... What are you working on?

We're in the midst of the holiday season, so everyone is probably busy working. I know I am, because I work at a dollar store with all kinds of Thanksgiving and... Continue »

This year I included movies from another challenge at DVD Talk, as I wanted to get a larger sampling. They have additional set challenges, so some movies may be over-represented as compared to one with no additional challenges, as is the case here.
You can view it online (I think) if you want, but I would just download (100% virus free, but feel free to scan with your antivirus if desired) as it is set up so you... Continue »

Early short film from Ari Aster, who would go on to direct Hereditary and Midsommar. It's a pretty fucked up tale of sexual abuse, but not like you've seen it before.

A few days late but I did manage to watch and buy a few movies recently.

Slender Man (2017)
The Dark (2018)
Private School (1983) Blu-ray (not a horror movie)
Nightmare Beach (1987) Blu-ray

And I just ordered Blu-rays of Berserker and Watch Me When I Kill.

For me, the ultimate is "The Amityville Horror' movie series. There is really no reason for this movie to have any sequels and/or spinoffs, let alone close to twenty.
What other movie franchises exist that probably shouldn't?

I know I didn't officially participate in the October challenge on TE. I organized one for the Dutch speaking horror fans which started earlier (late September) and went on longer (until November 10th) than the usual. It gave more people the opportunity to reach the 31 goal. The winner eventually watched 116 movies. 10 from the 18 participants reached the end goal. I was 4th with 85 viewings I didn't really kept track exactly of the amount of FTV and RW but I guess 90% were FTV.

From the FTV's... Continue »

Does anyone have a TV show or movie that they turn on because it gives them comfort? Or is that just me? A show that when you turn on, no matter how many time you have watched it, you are instantly focused, and forgetting the issues going on in your life.

As how that has gotten you through your darkest times, and I guess as one might say, a security banket?

My life has been pretty fucked up recently. No matter how hard I try to pick my self up, I end up knocked down. But I tunred on my favori... Continue »

I'm the kind of guy who likes ripping stuff off, because the more you do it, the more random little shit you'll learn about how it works and how you can benefit from it. So I've been working on a wikipedia skin.

It ain't the best thing in the world, but it's somewhat functional and it encompasses a good chunk of this site's database, including: media, people, users, links, pages, and disambiguations.

Well I have been on a Slasher Marathon lately. It's rather silly since it's not really a favorite subgenre for me but I tried out usenet for a month half a year ago (I forgot to unsubscribe in time) and I didn't know what I could download at the time so I went for the slashers found in the grindhouse database.

I have been viewing them more or less chronologically. I'm noticing a few things. Contrary to popular belief gore & blood seem to be the exception rather than the rule, many kills not... Continue »

Hey Guys, I know we are only a week into the awesomeness of the Turkey Challnege, but I wanted to let y'all know about nexts months challenges, and the rules!

To start off, the challnege will begin at midnight on December first, and will end at the stroke of midnight on New Years Day!

Basically the point of this challenge is to watch as many 80s movies as you can, and have fun!

You get 1 point for watching an 80s movie.

1 point if the movie is a sequel made in the 80s... Continue »

Has anyone ever taken the test to find out about your Jung Typology? I just did, and it was eerily accurate. I used to really be into psychology, so taking the quiz was pretty fun. Usually I don't care about personality tests, but this one seems pretty true!

I am an INFJ. I'm curious to see what other people's types are!

Sucks that the Documentary Challenge didn't happen this month. It's one I'm really looking forward to. Maybe I should've volunteered when @Messiah inquired about a host at the end of last month (I think that happened anyway, can't find it now).

I am however volunteering to host a week long challenge this month, if enough people are interested. I think it'd be best to start on a Sunday, so it'd have to either be this coming Sunday (13th) or the Sunday after that (20th).

To anyone interested... Continue »

It's hard to give my thoughts on this movie without spoiling anything, because this is one of those movies with important plot points. However, the trailer does give a lot of them away, or at least infer them, so there's not much to spoil. If you've watched the trailer, you can basically guess the exact plot progression of the movie because trailers these days are awfully in depth. They leave nothing to the imagination, and this movie is no exception.

For what it's worth, the movie entertained... Continue »

I'm asking this question after I read a post of one of my facebook 'friends'. Well I have traded action figures with the guy a few times but I keep our relationship rather superficial.

He posted a list of MTV awards from 1994 and put the awards from this year next to it with the message "The world is coming to and end". Pretty clearly he isn't too happy about today's music. He's from 1980 so he was 14 years old and I guess at almost 40 they are still his heroes. Some of the names are: Aerosmith... Continue »

I am watching this for the billionth time right now, and thinking about his drifter/yuppie character.

What do you think about his scenes toward the beginning, at the worker's camp? He sits there watching TV, and talks about different conspiracy theories to explain the world. It's hard to know exactly what to make of this, considering what we know by the end of the movie.

Is he spreading disinformation? Maybe trying to lay a trap for possible malcontents, seeing if he can get them to r... Continue »

Horror movies that have been released 2017-2019. I haven't seen any from 2019 yet so it will just be 2017 & 2018 from me

2017
Trauma: 7,5/10 (torture/revenge tends to either be too tame, uneventful or go over the top, this one has a great balance, with godo gore and yeah nudity which is becoming rare this days but Chile is thankfully not scrutinized by the censors)

Primal Rage: apparently forgot to rate it must be around 5/10 (no brain slasher and gore)

Errementari: 8/10 (I like fantasy a... Continue »
