I'm going to have to go with kitties. Was just thinking how gross and loud babies are. I really don't see the appeal. Why they're considered adorable by so many, I'll never understand. If you prefer those things, to each their own, but at least cats are self sufficient. Meanwhile, you got to give up everything, including sleep, so this other thing doesn't die. Sounds gay.

What are you folks doing?

All my shit is in boxes before our move.

Streaming choices are shitty, I heard Wayward Pines was good. I will do a Bob's Burgers Binge.

Anyone privy to any good jokes? Adult Swim played the Rick & Morty season 3 premiere today, in a loop, and starting from the middle, I think...?

As for the movie, I think the idea is probably great, and the ending is adequate, but I'll be honest... I don't remember any of it. Unmemorable, maybe? Or perhaps it'll only be memorable if I watch it another 5 times, and NOT while intoxicated. I want to give it credit for having Amy Steel and BIFF, though!

Master of comedy and martial arts as well as comedic martial arts.

Picking one out of the many movies would have to go with Drunken Master.

Also enjoy Police Story, Wheels On Meals, Half A Loaf of Kung Fu, Snake In Eagle's Shadow and many others. Magnificent Bodyguards is pretty zany and worth checking up on. Don't really like Rush Hour or most of the stuff that came out after that.

I've been trying to find English Subs for this movie forever. Anyone have it?

Can't post it at work.

I am pleasantly surprised by how good IT looks.

Love the cheesy original, saw it on TV when it first aired.

As a hater of most remakes, they are definately adding to this remake which makes it promising

Can you believe people used to make movies using VHS camcorders? I'm not talking about home movies, here. I'm talking full length features, intended to be picked up by actual companies for actual money. Which implies a fanbase for such a thing actually exists. Crazy, right? Perhaps. And perhaps it's a small fanbase, as most moviegoers can't be bothered with the unknowns and the unusual. However, the 80's gave us a new type... Continue »

Bernie Wrightson - fantastic comic book artist and co-creator (w/ writer Len Wein) of Swamp Thing passed away on March 18. I haven't seen much fanfare about it, but Wrightson also did some incredible b/w artwork for a comic version of Frankenstein. When I say incredible, I mean incredibly detailed. I haven't figured out the image posting thing here yet but you can see an example at:

After my widsom tooth is removed, I decided to see a horror movie about teeth called The Dentist (1996). I think it's a lot fun and excellent extremely underrated horror film of the 1990s. It's scary, gory as hell that makes you never want to go to the dentist again. It was based on the story about the real-life serial killer dentist, Glennon Engleman (1928-'99). But all other than all this, I'd give it a 10 out of 10.... Continue »

Both those sites only care about thier own programing or reruns of othe shows. The horror is either shit or IF they have classics, I have seen it.

Occasionally, I will stumble on something good.

What do you guys recommend?

For me, There's two kinds of bad Horror movies. The one's I buy off Amazon, these days. Some I like, some I love, and some make me want my money back. Then, there's the one's I rented on VHS as a teenager back in the 90's. I love them all, period. I guess that makes me one of those nostalgia weirdos, who's biased enough to love all sorts of abominations of cinema. Fine by me. Not everyone can get pleasure out of Silent Night D... Continue »

Undeniably.
I'm old (40), and probably live like an 80-year-old.

I'm probably the last person on earth who still doesn't have a smart-phone.
I simply prefer the unsophistication of a flip-open phone.
I'm also afraid that if I were to get one, I'd shatter it on the first day.

This reminds me:
I'm so old-fashioned, I still haven't learned how to upload an image on here.
Can someone inform me, please? Thanks in advance.

The Trash Challenge has been a blast, but it's cumming to an end. Let's get some B&W recs going, so we can jump right into the next challenge, huh?

I love the Universal Monster movies, and have seen most of the main ones. Anything with Karloff or Lugosi is good by default. I've seen a handful of other "essentials" like:

20s:
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Nosferatu, The Phantom of the Opera

30s:
White Zombie, Mystery of the Wax Museum, Freaks, King Kong, Dr. Jekyll and Mr.... Continue »

Is this any good? It's supposedly based on the Manson killings, before anyone realized who actually did the killings.

First off, I'll remind everyone that I work at a movie theater, so when new movies come out, I get to see them for free. No biggie, since I skip most movies anyway, since they're all shit. However, Disney, being the greedy fucks they are, doesn't allow us to see their movies for free. They still want theater employees to pay full price, because making a billion dollars on every movie they make just isn't enough already.

They wont let us see the damn Guardians of the Galaxy 2 until near... Continue »

and also starring MOLLY PARKER, who I love and I am sorry I couldn't stuff her name into the subject line.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118350/

This is a pretty interesting TV movie. I think it was really well done. A very large part of it is basically a one woman show, just Molly Parker talking to herself as she thinks her way through various life-threatening predicaments... so, if you don't like her, better skip this puppy. But, I like her, so I really enjoyed this.

She plays a... Continue »

Boring thread, I know, but I think it makes sense to make it today.

You don't have to say why if you don't feel like it.

Mine is Dawn of the Dead (1978) because it's very entertaining, it has great likeable characters, it has some of the most memorable zombies of all time, it has a lot of great gore and the music is awesome. Also it offers everything you could possibly want from a movie: horror obviously, suspense, action, drama, comedy and even romance. I could watch it everyday and never... Continue »

Sorry, that's Work In Progress, not Sharon Mitchell with a whip.

8x10, mechanical pencil, 15 hours in. I'm having to do repair work, my original attmempt at capturing the look of black leather made it look more like a pea coat. I can do about two to three hours at a time before getting an eye strain headache.

A lot of the old stories about werewolves, vampires, ghosts, etc, have some kind of supernatural element, obviously. Often, the way to fight the evil monsters lies in some kind of Christian symbol, like a cross, or maybe a pre-Christian symbol that has been co-opted by Christianity, like... OK, nothings coming to mind, but I'm sure we can think of a few kajillion examples.

Anyway, in modern times, there are plenty of horror movies and franchises that have moved away from explicitly Christi... Continue »

Me and my DerTables will be going on Saturday, May 6th.

Here's the guest list:

I definitely want to meet Argento, Henenlotter, maybe Claudio Simonetti (Goblin), Michael Berryman, Debi Sue Voorhees, Michael Pare, and Ted Raimi.

This movie was wack. It reminded me a little of Street Trash. I welcome any comments or opinions... because of shit going on in my personal life I'm having a hard time focusing, so I probably missed some of the goodness, but enjoyed what I absorbed.
