(This a story I wrote years ago. I've gotten better since then! Promise! Anywayz, just thought I'd post it here, on the off-chance that some of you may get a kick out of it.)

Walter had always loved to dote on his mother, ever since he was a boy. Fatherless from an early age, he took it upon himself to be the man of the house - her provider and protector. When sheโ€™d fallen ill, he dropped out of medical school immediately, less than a month until completion, to care for her. Her il... Continue »

Last year, I told myself I wanted to write a book. I started writing some... then scrapped it. I started over, and finished the story, and I came back to this little bit of writing I attempted back then, which is vaguely in tune with both the the beginning and ending of the story. Without further adieu, I present a prologue for the story, for anyone interested.

If you can fake control, then do you have control? Take a minute to think about it. You're a smart, resilient individual,

I have ever seen was the boil/goiter/growth on the redneck''s neck at the end of Easy Rider.

It looks 100% real to me, which is why it makes me want to dry heave, yet I was fascinated by it when I first saw the movie a few weeks ago. Deadandburied's post reminded me about it.

Holy hell... I just read that John Dunsworth, who played Jim "The Liquor" Lahey on Trailer Park Boys has died!

This truly breaks my heart, as he was an amazing part of the Trailer Park Boys legacy. He played a drunk bastard trailer park supervisor for over 15 years, and he was so much fun to watch.

I'm gonna get drunk as fuck tonight, boys... 2017 can go fuck itself.

Any love for this one? I thought it was such a fantastic movie, i knew it was good beforehand (rewatch) but i forgot just how amazing it actually is and i don't usually dig supernatural horror flicks.

When you think about who directed this movie, you laugh. "McG" directed this, and we can't take a guy with a name like that seriously now, can we? He directed Terminator: Salvation, for fuck's sake! While he always struck me as a bit of a tool, I guess his heart was in the right place. Here, with Netflix's new Friday the 13th release "The Babysitter"... he might have finally redeemed himself! The Irish stand up comedian, writer and actor has died of liver failure aged 51. Probably best known for being a team captain on music comedy quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks, he was also in a few films inc The Butcher Boy & The Commitments and briefly had his own sitcom.

He was well known to enjoy a hedonistic lifestyle, and kept his sense of humour until the end - "I went to the hospital with my psoriasis. They gave me a DVD of The Singing Detective and said "Good luck with your life"."

Yeah. Troma isn't really what it once was, is it? Nowadays it seems like they only pick up random garbage that nobody else is interested in. And this problem goes back well over a decade. Whatever notoriety they still enjoy is certainly not due to anything they've done lately. Kaufman or Non-Kaufman. I'd go so far as to say 2011's Father's Day is currently their last hurrah. Where did it all go wrong, you ask? Well, don't ask me. I'm... Continue »

I still prefer House of 1000 Corpses but this is definitely a strong Rob Zombie horror film. Sid Haig, Ken Foree and Bill Mosely are all hilarious and terrifying. The role reversal at the end is interesting.

It's an interesting parallel that Tiny shows up at the end as a saviour figure for the evil characters when earlier in the film there was a scene with a victim calling out to God for help and no one came.

Sequels. Yeah, they're ok, sometimes. There were a lot of them before the reboot revolution. And just like reboots, the sequel craze was a bit much. Very few were necessary, some were pretty good. However, most sequels are just obvious cash grabs, every bit as much as these stupid reboots we're now stuck with. The 80's was the point when so many directors got the idea that an overabundance of part 2's was okay and not at all cheapening oth... Continue »

Revisited these 2 movies last night, the rewatch for The Innkeepers did the trick, i appreciated it more and i changed the rating from 5/10 to 6/10 but for YellowBrickRoad while i absolutely love slow burn horror this one just didn't work for me, it had some truly terrifying scenes but as a whole the movie fell flat and aimless 4/10

At the time of writing, the only movie on here which has the full gamut of votes from 1 to 5 is...

I suppose it shouldn't be suprising that a remake/reboot of a beloved franchise can cause such differing opinion, but i thought it might be something more extreme or perverse like A Serbian Film or Pink Flamingos.

Anyway, don't really know where i'm going with this, bit bored.... Continue »

I just got Suspicious Death of a Minor a few days ago. Will probably be watching it in just a little while.

Yeah, it's another Stephen King story turned into pop-culture mini-series. The prologue shows a man run down a crowd of innocents in 2009, and now... in 2011... the retired detective is still on the case.

The show hasn't aired in entirety yet, but so far, it's pretty good. Not "11.22.63" good, but it's entertaining. That Stephen King sure can write a good yarn. The series is a cat-and-mouse type thing, where you see perspectives of both the hero and the villain. The villain has a decent and i... Continue »

My waiting time is over. I finally saw it last week! And I have to say that I absolutely loved it.

What's it about? In 1974, 'he' murdered his entire family as they slept in a haunted house, in Amityville, but 40 years later, a single mother that moves her three children into that the same house.

This movie is terrific, crazy and scary with some creepy moments. But yet, it's a lot of fun to watch. It has great jump scares! I found the twists crazy.

One thing in this movie made me surpr... Continue »

A few days ago, some dumb bitch crashed into my sister's van and totaled the fucking thing, almost killing my 4 month old nephew and sending my sending my sister to the hospital with a broken sternum. Now, that spoiled teenage brat who hit her (who was entirely happy-go-lucky at the crime scene, by the way) is faking injuries and trying to sue the sis, when her car was virtually undamaged. Why do people like this even exist?

A post in the Challenge thread got me thinking about this, plus I watched Deadline last night, which qualifies...

...so what are some horror films that feature other, unknown/fabricated films or films made specifically as part of the plot device for the film in which they appear. E.G. in Deadline one of the films that is currently being produced is not an actual film that I'm aware of, and in the film Found there is a fabricated (but then subsquently released) film "Headless".... They Have Changed Their Face is perhaps the most innovating and original take on the Bram Stoker's novel Dracula. In this intoxicating allegory on capitalism, they substituted the well- trodden Dracula with a successful and powerful businessman, Giovanni Nosferatu, the head of a massive corporation, who invites a low- ranking employee to, from what appears on the exterior as an old dilapidated villa. As soon as he arrives in the locality - thing... Continue »

Remember how back in the day when submitting goofs it usually took a few days at least for them to show up? Well, now they are instantaneous. Apparently they believe anything people post now.
I'm tempted to create a dummy account and post something blatantly false just to see if it instantly is posted, and how long it takes to come down.

I'll admit it, I'm a fan of the Jeepers Creepers movies. Yes, I'm aware of the controversy surrounding the director Victor Salva. He's a scumbag sure, but I still enjoy his movies.

I have been looking forward to part 3 of the Creeper movies for a very long time, and now I hear that it's playing in theaters for one night only (which is scheduled for tonight September 26th) due to people threatening to protest the movie. So sick of people ruining things.

Does knowing a director has a histo... Continue »

Here's another FTV for me this year, because Stephen King has so goddamn many movies out there, I still haven't even seen them all. Firestarter is a government experiment gone wrong, and those trying to get away from those damn government agents that are always trying to make a weapon out of everything.

Mark L. Lester was a busy man in the early 80s with Class of 1984, Firestarter, and Commando. Beyond the early 90s, I guess his career turned to shit with obscure titles no one's heard of.

What surprised me about this movie was the cast. There's quite a few names in there, because every big actor has worked on a King story at some point or another... and some even worked on several King stories! Continue »
