Let's kick off the new year (and new decade) by bringing back the Animation Challenge. We skipped it entirely in 2019 and that's too bad because there's a shitload of a good animation out there to be watched.

You get one point per minute watched. All forms of animation count, including live action mixed with animation such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Cool World. The challenge will run from 12:00 AM January 1st to 11:59 PM January 31st. Make your SPOT below!

I had been pondering about a topic like this since last week. With MovieMeter members drafting pretty shitty movies for the horror draft I was really craving for some better flicks to see. After viewing Piranha 3D that gave me a good opportunity to rewatch the original from Joe Dante. Surprisingly I didn't hate the remake it was good as pop corn flick and the amount of nudity didn't harm. Nice nude underwater ballet and funny to see porn star Gianna Michaels skysurfing (or what is it called) los... Continue »

I wanted to watch this one months ago, but they booted it from theaters before it could get a proper response from viewers, likely due to the lengthy runtime. Now, I hear there's a 3-hour cut, but we wont go into that one today. The 2.5 hour theatrical cut is plenty to talk about, so here we go...

The film begins in 1980, right after the Overlook incident. We get to see some well-recast renditions of Danny Torrance and his mother, now played by the sexy Alex Essoe, and we even get a bit of Doc... Continue »

...and better than is usually credited for.

Filmed in 1976, but not released until the post-Halloween slasher glut of the late '70s and early '80s, Savage Weekend, much like The Redeemer (1977), is a rude, crude, and wonky-as-hell early stalk n' slash prototype.

Our ragtag group of friends - adults, curiously, and not teens - spend a weekend in upstate New York to watch the construction of a boat, but also spare no expenses in a little r&r and the chance to bop each other's brains out (wh... Continue »

Not sure how many people here watch Sons of Anarchy, but it very well be my favorite show ever. Due to that I was very sceptical of watching Mayans M.C. At first it was going to be a prequel, which I wasn't into, but turns out it is set years after SoA ended.

Despite all of my reservations I finally watch it and I have to say I was very pleased. I'm not sure if it is quite as great as SoA, but it far exceeded my expectations. It is gruesome at times. FX didn't hold back at all on this one. T... Continue »

Okay, now that the drafting is done, it's now time to move on to the voting stage. Before I list the rounds, I will go over a few rules.
1.) No one gets mad because someone didn't vote for them
2.) No one calls someone out on how they voted.
3.) If you do have a problem, pm said person, and talk about it privately.

4.) Everyone on the site can vote except for the people in the round.
5.) Voting will be open for one day each round.
6.) Most importantly, Have fun!

Okay, here is the order of... Continue »

Once upon a time, the state of Florida was quite the go to location for Exploitation film directors. "The B-movie capital of the world", some called it... Actually, nobody probably ever said that. However, in the 1960's, small-time directors such as Herschell Gordon Lewis and Doris Wishman couldn't stay away. Choosing some town in Florida to shoot whatever off-beat weirdness they recently came up with. Gore movies, Nudie Cu... Continue »

Shudder put out their 6 episode series of Creepshow, based on the wonderful George Romero / Stephen King collaboration of the EC comics series. Creepshow 1 from 1982 is a horror classic. Every skit in that movie is gold. Creepshow 2 is more of an acquired taste, but I've grown to enjoy it quite a bit. Creepshow 3? Never heard of her... I recall talk of a Creepshow remake for years, but they scrapped that piece of shit in favor of the tv series, produced by Greg Nicotero and with involvement from Stephen King, Joe Hill, and Tom Savini. Oh my... So how does it fare? We'll find out! Continue »

I just gave Once Upon a Time in Hollywood another whirl, and it's such a love letter to the 60s aesthetic, hippies, Manson shit, drugs, real estate, stunts, filmmaking, spaghetti westerns, and all kinds of other necessary shit for a good period piece.

I feel that Tarantino must have a blast making these movies. Most producers give him free reign to do whatever he wants, so he basically just rambles through character development and dialogue for a chunk of his movies, then gets violent with thin... Continue »

Hey guys. I know I posted earlier about trying out an Animtion draft, so here are the rules I have for it.

This will be an Animated Charcater Draft, so we will all take turns picking our favorite animated characters. Any animated character from Movies, Tv Shows, and Video Games will count. But if someone, has picked a character you wanted to pick, you will have to pick another!

So for this draft, I am hoping to get at least 8 participants, but more is definitely better! I, as the Host would... Continue »

Has anyone on here watched V-Wars on Netflix? I just finished the first season, and I actually thought it was really good. I loved the story, and loved how it was a different take on Vampires. Now I knew going into this that I was going to be biased because 1.) I used be, and still am I guess, obsessed with Vampires. And 2.) I love the actor who portrays the main character. Anyway, I don't want to give too much away, in case you all decide to watch it. But I hope there is a season 2, because I... Continue »
