Well, here we are. The 2020s. We finally get to find out if Kyle Reese served in the 132nd under Steve, Joe, or Katy Perry. I'm thinking Katy. Yeah, I know, one of the sequels had him serving under "Justin" Perry, but that was probably just in some kind of parallel universe caused by a time travel goof. I still say it will be Katy.

Speaking of time travel goofs, I was thinking about ideas for future Terminator movies. (Maybe some of these have already been done in some of the recent seque... Continue »

Hey guys, I hope everyone in the U.S. had an amazing Thanksgiving! But now, December is upon us, and that means it's time for the 80s challenge. So let's all have fun watching as many 80s movies as we can!

The challenge starts at midnight, and ends at the stroke of midnight on New Years day.

Here's how you earn points!

You get 1 point for watching an 80s movie.

1 point if the movie is a sequel made in the 80s to a movie made in the 1980s or earlier

Well I included Der and Basic which was the simplest solution. There is going to be a final with 3 people.

I used a randomizer and it turned out this result:

BasicBallzBoxDerBambiGymnoZnepsfpxmarkusTommixSnowyJohan
So this gives

Battle 1: Basic vs Ballz
Battle 2: Box vs Der
Battle 3: Bambi vs Gymno
Battle 4: Znep vs sfpx
Battle 5: markus vs Tommix
Battle 6: Snowy vs Johan

When your own battle is on you can't vote even not for your opponent.

I never put down
the toilet seat to take a dump.

Most restrooms don't have those paper thingys to put on top of the seat, and I'd be embarrassed to use one.

The bottom line is that I refuse to sit where another man's ass has been sitting. I'd rather take a chance of sitting on piss.

I can always wipe piss off, I can't wipe off the feeling of having sat on another man's ass.
True story, ladies and gentlemen.

And he was not fazed or disturbed by any of it, and that includes the John Hurt chest burster scene which he found fascinating. It got me to thinking what I should show him next. Jaws was his first horror movie but he bawled at the end of that because he wanted the shark to live. So anything which involves the death of an animal is probably a no-no (that discounts The Thing then).. He's also seen Gremlins. I guess Predator, The Terminator and T2 would be good ones. Maybe Poltergeist for his firs... Continue »

I haven't updated this list in a couple of years, and I have seen a lot since then. I felt it was a nice time to do this A few people do ask about my taste, so here it is, it has a mixture of old and new, foreign language, classics and obscure stuff.

I've been putting it off due to its excessive runtime, but I didn't have to go to work today, so I had no excuse.

Scorsese is all about those organized crime biopics, and he does 'em well. This is all about Hoffa (Pacino) and his right-hand man Frank (De Niro), but we've also got Joe Pesci and Harvey Keitel in a bit part.

Most Scorsese movies are the same, and in that respect, this movie is Goodfellas Part 3. Ain't nothing wrong with that considering Scorsese movies never get boring. He keeps... Continue »

Okay, lets get straight down to it, what horror remakes do you think were better, or at the very least equal to the original ?

Don't worry you won't be burned at the stake for your opinions!!

Here are some remakes that I thought were better, or even decent:

Let the Right One In (2008) (8) V Let Me In (2010) (8) - The English language remake was superb in my opinion. Captured the atmosphere of the original perfectly.

The Woman in Black (1989) (8) V The Woman in Black (2012) (8) - The remake... Continue »

I hope everyone had fun. I am working on more ideas for other knockout votes. If anyone also has ideas I would love to hear them! I hope everyone has a fantastic new year!

I was on another forum and made a thread about having bought a brand new DVD with some scratches (which was secure in the platform, not shaking around in there), when someone jokingly said "What's a DVD, dad?"

Someone else said he "doesn't miss the clutter and cost" of DVDs.

He has a small point with the clutter, but the cost? Erm, you're paying for them when you pay your internet bill.

Besides, I've always thought that the variety is just too much.
How can you even pick something to watch, w... Continue »

Do they really need to be answered?

Actually, they do.
For example, why didn't Alex want to screw Dana in Puppetmaster (1989)?

She asked him in, and he declined, saying "I don't think that's such a good idea".

Is it because he thought that by bopping her, she'd be able to cast a spell (or enter his mind and control him)?

Otherwise, refusing her didn't make much sense. But that's just me.

It's been a great year for music, probably one of the best in recent memory, across many genres including Art Pop, Black Metal and Hip Hop.

Here, for me, are the best releases of the year (all rated at least 7/10):

LINGUA IGNOTA - Caligula (Neoclassical/Death Industrial)
clipping. - There Existed An Addiction to Blood (Hip Hop/Horrorcore)
Little Simz - Grey Area (Hip Hop)
Tyler, the Creator - Igor (Hip Hop)
Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising (Art Pop)

It was December 2018 when I heard the news that there that a horror project in my home country (Belgium) got the green light. Despite itโ€™s rather silly name โ€œYummyโ€ the premise sounded cool to me immediately: hospital and zombies. Ok that didnโ€™t sound very original but somehow I had the hopes this movie might be old school. After all the hyped up stuff that year from Hereditary and Mandy (which were good in their own right but IMO also highly pretentious) it felt this one might actually... Continue »

December 20 release date. Diabolik DVD says it's an all-region disc, but is that true? Only reason I'm asking is because House by the Lake and Drop Dead Fred were also both claimed to be all-region discs that would work on USA players. I got burned on both - both boxes clearly say PAL region B. The sellers flat out lied.

Did they really think no one would mind? Is this type of thing really OK, all of a sudden? You know what I'm talking about, right? Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2 and all it's shortcomings. Or one really long one. But hey! If one enjoys the first installment, is it really a flaw? Yeah, it's a flaw, but if you haven't seen it in a while, maybe it's not so bad. Yeah, most of the first 40 minutes of this sequel consists of flashbacks from the origina... Continue »
