Hey, it's Christmastime everyone - there needs to be a Christmas themed horror movie thread here at Trash Epics, right? RIGHT???

So this is it here. Post whatever you want about Christmas horror movies.

With Christmas being my favorite holiday, and horror being my favorite movie genre, it would only make sense that, when the two merge together, it has the potential to cure CANCER. No, I'm kidding. Just thought it'd be funny to say "CANCER" in a holiday-themed thread.

I love this time... Continue »

I met a woman a few weeks ago and we've been talking on the phone almost every night since. She keeps telling me I'm good looking, which sounds phony because I know I'm not. She said I looked like Ray Romano. She keeps saying how much we have in common. She claims to like horror movies. She claimed to like science projects. We've talked countless times now but she never manages to talk about anything that's relevant to anything. Just a lot of crap about people she knows and people she's wor... Continue »

It was last week when I got into a discussion how realistic or not a movie like Eden Lake (2008) is.

To those who love it as in being truly shocked and down (some for days) after seeing the flick the arguments are:
- could happen to anyone
- it feels realistic and believable

To the first point yes it could even though I don't think most would react or take action like the couple, especially the guy did really many things that were far fetched.

To the second point I think there were way too ma... Continue »

Now that Tromafreak mentioned the movie in his top 100 (calling it the best horror from the last 20 years or one of the best) and it's still in the running in the movie KO on MovieMeter, again a certain question popped up. One I have been wondering about not long after I had seen the movie the first (and still the only) time.

I had been critical of the movie. I reckon it is shocking. And I must say I was into it until about 45-50 minutes. I'm not saying it was great but it kept me curious enoug... Continue »

Some people are crazy nerds about this series. I'm a moderate. However, I can appreciate some of its merits and visuals, and I wanted to make something for this "holiday". Hopefully, this shit works for you, and if it doesn't, you probably need to update your browser:

So, I just read that there is going to be a Tiger King tv series. At first, I thought it was a joke, but nope it's true. The best part is that Nicolas Cage will be playing Joe Exotic! I'll be watching this one. I can't wait to see how Cage plays Joe. I wonder who will be playing Carole Fucking Baskin? This is going to be amazing! emoticon

Today I watched the most recent Nancy Drew film. It came out last year, and I have to say I really liked it. Growing up, I was a huge Nancy Drew fan. I read all of the books, and the series is the reason I fell in love with mysteries. So naturally, I am drawn to any adaption of this series. The first one I watched came out in 2007, and it was good, but it was only loosely based on the book. They created their own mystery with the character. And I loved it. I watched it all the time, and wanted t... Continue »

I hate movies in the DCU, which constitutes all this Justice League continuity garbage. They had potential, but they squandered it when they turned Suicide Squad into a PG-13 plotless piece of shit. Somehow, that movie made Harley Quinn an icon. Maybe it's because Margot Robbie is sexy? Maybe it's because comic superfans have a raging hard-on for the character? Either way, that movie revitalized her notoriety and deemed a sequel/spin-off as a necessary endeavor. Why? Because why not? The DCU has... Continue »

I was just thinking, the 90s don't get much respect when it comes to horror. But, what about horror comedies?? Consider that the 90s gave us Army of Darkness, Cemetery Man, and Braindead. I mean, wow. And, some people might stick the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie in there too. And arguably Friday the 13th Part 9, Jason Goes to Hell.... that is far less of a comedy than the other movies I'm mentioning here, but I would say it's probably the 3rd funniest of the franchise, after parts 6 and 1... Everything on the news is Covid this, Corona that. Quarantine, social distancing, blah blah blah. Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of hearing it. Either way, most of us are stuck at home and have got dick to do. Not me though. I'm still moderately essential. Someone's got to stock the toilet paper, right?

So what have you been doing in this economical downtime? Please, ramble on and tell us how you've been wasting your time, because I really do want to hear it! I can ramble on and on about what... Continue »

Alllll righty then, we have the coronavirus to worry about. Beautiful. Just... beautiful. It sounds like, over the course of this month, things should get a hell of a lot scarier. So, what better time to watch horror movies, or sci-fi movies, dealing with plagues, or general viral outbreaks? Or TV shows, or books... I'm not being too picky here. Just generally any kind of story we can find out there that has some kind of plague going on. What comes to mind for you? I'll throw out a few.... Continue »

"Airplanes...ha! Why it's against the Creator's will. If the Creator wanted us to fly, he'd have given us wings."

But we fly. Maybe some of you remember an even sillier remark:

"Automobiles? Ah...they scare the horses. If'n the Creator had meant for us to roll around the countryside, we'd have been born with wheels."

Silly? Certainly. We were not born with wings, we were not born with wheels. But in the modern world of today it's an accepted fact that we must have t... Continue »

So I'm just sitting in my living room watching random YouTube videos and we stumble across a "what's my phobia" video to see if my boyfriend and I had any!

I definitely do and I just got curious if y'all had any crazy/weird phobias?!

Hey guys, I have been watching some of sister wives lately, and I am curious. Do any of you guys watch the show? If so what do you think about the Brown Family.

I know polygamy is illegal, personally I do not think it should be. Watching this family, and the love they have for each other. How can anyone say no, that's not right? The kids are all happy, healthy, and growing up to bigger and better things. And they have a huge support system. They have their dad, and 4 moms.

Kody Brown has fou... Continue »

So, am I to understand that Terminator: Genisys is no longer a thing? No longer a consideration within the Terminator universe, I mean. The thought of another sequel coming along and erasing Genisys always sounded reasonable to me, but in this case, maybe not...? If not merely a fitting finale, Dark Fate was always an opportunity to get the T-train back on the tracks, which, even originally, seemed very unlikely for many reasons. However, after wa... I dabbled with this a bit before when I reworked the themes, but I got carried away and decided to make it a more standardized feature. Heads-Up Displays!

You can access HUDs in the drop-down menu or the home page. It might require a page refresh on your part. It's a fairly pointless feature, but it grants you insight into how Terminators and RoboCops might view the world, and if you're anything like me, you've always wanted to be a robot, am I right?

This took longer than I thought because I... Continue »

I started out doing a top 50 favorite movie list, but so many titles came to mind, figured 100 was not only possible, but necessary. I put a lot of thought into this, and have rearranged many since I started, but I feel like this is as definitive of an IN ORDER list that I can come up with. 100th favorite to all time favorite.

100. Willard (2003) - Crispin's Glover bullied by R. lee Ermey is the greatest thing ever... Well, the 100th greatest thing.

99. The Day the Earth Stood Stil... Continue »

This is one I started on a while ago, but I flat-out forgot about it for months. Every day, my mind decides to focus on something else, so I can never get my priorities straight, but in this particular instance, the feature is arcade games.

Click the 'Community' drop-down menu to view the Trash Epics Arcade. Here are a few shitty games you can play, and they'll even keep track of scores so you can try to be the best A-hole on Trash Epics!

You might remember Tetris and Snake from a while ag... Continue »

I don't mean movies that you forget the title of. I'm talking about movies that you have watched more than once and you can't remember how they end.

I've encountered this a few times. I'll have seen a movie anywhere from 2 or more times and for the life of me, I can't remember how the damn movie ends.

Here are three movies off the top of my head that I have this issue with:

1. Session 9 (2001) I would estimate I have seen this movie 5 or 6 times. I can never remember how it ends. I li... Continue »

Anybody seen this one yet? It's a visual feast based on an HP Lovecraft short story in which a meteorite crashes onto a family's New England property and some weird shit happens.

The movie is engaging and well made. You've got Rage Cage, Tommy Chong, and some serious The Thing vibes. I think Cage was still in that artsy Mandy mode when he signed up for this one, and while that movie had a lot of the right ingredients, it did absolutely nothing for me. I think this movie has more good things goi... Continue »

This movie scared the ever-loving hell out of me when I was a kid. In many ways, I consider it the definitive haunted house movie, right up there with Burnt Offerings. I know for some odd reason, it's not as appreciated as it ought to be, but I've always liked this movie even years after being traumatized by it as a kid.

The movie is based on a book and true story of a family who moves into a New York house they got for a great bargain. That's because nobody wanted it after the real-life DeFeo... Continue »
