Here's some dumb AI generated garbage. God, I wish this was a real movie. It could be the next Amazing Bulk if it gets made. I am now a fan of AI. Make it happen Skynet.

I know it's been a long time. I've just been really busy. So what's new?

It was only after I have seen the above movie that it was directed by Ivan Reitman. That name sounded familiar but I had to look him up where I had seen him before. Many fans of the 80s blockbuster Ghostbusters would have felt insulted not putting the link but hell I don't care. Ghostbusters is some cheesy horror comedy which I personally cannot really appreciate and I'm really being nice here. I won't go on a tirade how overrated and trash (in the bad or boring sense of the word as I like trash... Continue »

Several of us have already talked about this in the shout box. But I just wanted to mention something that I found confusing.

Josh Hartnett (AKA Cooper) saw an old lady in at least three scenes. I was unclear, watching the movie, about exactly what the hell was supposed to be going on there. After consulting the oracles of Reddit, and of Quora, and the comments sections under some YT videos, I think I get it now. It does make sense, I guess I just had some kind of mental block against see... Continue »

I was just thinking today, it sucks so much that that franchise has been stuck in legal limbo, or whatever the hell is going on, for so long. We could have had... I don't know, maybe ten or fifteen more sequels, over the years, if people had just stopped the legal bullshit.

Those movies aren't even supposed to be very good, that's part of why they're fun. Fans could and would probably have churned out even more than fifteen sequels, like, say, three or four movies a year, if there hadn't be... Continue »

First of all, everyone go read shadow-345's posts about this movie. I wouldn't have watched it if not for his posts. I'm gonna try to watch it again soon, by the way, because it was very late in my time zone when I watched it and I was dozing off by the end.

Having said that, I basically liked it. The monster (supposed to be an ancient pagan deity actually, if I got that right) seems to be intended to represent a sort of combination of berserker barbarian fury and sheer (raw?) animal power... Continue »

Hey cunts. Rather than clog up the Oct challenge thread with reviews, I'd thought I'd post my Fulci month here. My goal is to watch every Lucio Fulci horror movie over the course of the month. Will I achieve this? Probably not. And that's fine. Because perhaps the real massive fucking splinter in the eyeball is the friends we made along the way...

Let's do this!

Well it soon comes around. You all know the drill but for any newbies, here are the rules:

> At least 31 horror films must be watched during the month of October. 16 of these must be FTVs (first time viewings).
> You get 1 "point" per movie watched.
> Runtime is 1 hour minimum (fuck the 45 minutes nonsense).
> Kiddy-friendly "Halloween themed" movies wil... Continue »

An Aussie horror about a girl who asks a guy to the prom, but he says no. Not to be a dick, but he's already going with his girlfriend, so no hard feelings, okay?

He should have said yes. With help from her equally demented father, this girl kidnaps the guy and makes him regret ever rejecting her. The fuckery in this movie is actually sticking with me, so I guess that means it gets the job done. The torture and stuff is quite gross, made worse by how the victims don't die from it. Particularly... Continue »

The so-called "finale" of Ti West's 'X' trilogy finds our survivor in Hollywood to make a name for herself. It's hard when you get your start in porn, because no one takes you seriously. Set in the backdrop the Night Stalker killings in the mid-80s, this is a jab at Hollywood. I think the moral of the story is to suck that dick, or you'll never work in this town again!

I was wondering how the story would connect to the first film, and Kevin Bacon is there as the sleazy PI to act a... Continue »

Naomi Scott goes insane in this infectious psychdrama sequel. She does a good job with the material, but it's a lot of jump scares and more of the same. Most of the movie is a delusion, and we use that excuse to have a disjointed plot that plunges our doomed protagonist forward in time to speed up the inevitable deadline that is her life.

There are at least a few decently unsettling moments, but they're borderline hilarious. Like the group of smiling folk in her apartment who keep smiling and p... Continue »

A quick shout-out to this Aussie FX show starring Scott Ryan as Ray Shoesmith, a hitman trying to balance his work life and his home life with his young daughter.

image The main actor hasn't done anything outside of this show and the movie it's spun-off from, The Magician, but he's dope. The series showcases his various jobs, as well as him helping his friends out of various jams.

For instance, a prominent side character friend Ga... Continue »

image Set 5 years after part 2, Art the Clown comes back from the dead after growing a new head that his mangled victim grew and vomited up for him. Meanwhile, Sienna is trying to move on and move in with some family. Her nerdy brother Steve SmithJonathan is also trying to move on and do some schoolin'. Art finds a Santa Claus and, much like Nightmare Before Christmas, he thinks he can do it better, but seriously m... Continue »

I was trying to think of horror movies set in the midst of massive hurricanes, for no particular reason.

Crawl isn't bad at all. It has Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper, stuck in a house in the middle of a huge hurricane, with (the plot thickens!) a bunch of gigantic alligators. Kaya and Barry both took it seriously, and did a solid job. There are also a bunch of extra characters, mostly just to add to the body count.

There should be... maybe a horror comedy, in which they show multiple Wea... Continue »

This past weekend while vacationing in San Antonio, me and the gal went into the mall on the River Walk, to take a look at the Sea Life aquarium. Oddly, while making our way through, we came across a couple of tables set up with a silent auction. None of the stuff had anything to do with aquatics, it was mostly just signed memorabilia, pertaining to movies or sports. There was just one thing that caught my eye.

Teacup is a new show, I have not seen it. I just wanted to mention that apparently it is based on the novel Stinger, by Robert McCammon. I have rambled on about his books before, I'm pretty sure. I'm a big fan of his book They Thirst, about vampires taking over L.A.

Anyway, I hope they did a good job with it. Had to share.

This movie was based on a simple idea. What if an undead slasher was told through the perspective of the villain? So that's our movie. We follow some wronged "slow" person who revives when his bling is taken from his grave site. So, he pulls himself out of hell or wherever and goes on a search for his good luck charm.

The curiosity keeps it interesting for a while. I like seeing what he does and where he goes and how he kills. I had read reviews calling it shallow, but it is what it is. A halfw... Continue »

Directed by some weird German guy, this movie is all over the place. It feels like it's trying to rip-off a lot of things, but it doesn't know quite which one to focus on. I thought it was Italian at first, but it wasn't dubbed enough.

There's some backstory that traumatizes two kids, who resume the rest of the movie as young adults in the "present". Basically, there's a slasher who appears through reflective surfaces. However, John Carradine advises the heroine on how to progress this story, w... Continue »

image A happy cruise ship experiences technical difficulties. Probably because it was piloted by that dumb fuck George Kennedy. Only a handful of survivors are left to crawl aboard some abandoned Nazi torture ship from decades ago. And guess what? This ship is haunted!

As the merry band of heroes navigate the ship, it randomly kills them in dumb, psychic ways. It threw Saul Rubinek overboard before he could ever make his war epic Comi... Continue »

The first original Omen from 1976 is a classic. Very ominous and unsettling all the way through, so where do you go next? The second film was a rehash that bears a mild charm, and the third one confused everyone with its disregard for any relevant timeframe. How is Damien born in 1976 an adult in 1981?

Honestly, forget the sequels. Although part 4 is mildly amusing and apparently a heavy influence on a plot thread of this movie, but ask most people and they'll agree, "... Continue »

image I find that as I get closer to a mid-life crisis, the more juvenile I seem to be getting. All I've been doing this month is watching kiddie cartoons like TMNT '87 and thinking about costumes and action figures.

I think the NECA toys are really cool. A lot of attention to detail. So far, I have: Phantom of the Opera, Frankenstein, Gill-Man, H2 Michael Myers, Dr. Loomis, and Ghostface. I shouldn't waste my money on these things,... Continue »

I haven't posted in a while, but here is my latest useless contribution. I watched Reign. It was like someone took the dragons, etc... and excitement out of Game of Thrones and replaced it with feminism. I don't know why I finished the series, but I did and it was not good, but I for some reason liked it.
