Concerning Stephen King, I was thinking about King's films I saw at the cinemas. I remember seeing The Dead Zone, Maximum Overdrive, The Running Man, Pet Semetary, Sleepwalkers and 1408 in theatres. Seeing a film at the cinemas was always a different experience than watching at home imo which made a piece of shit like Sleepwalkers seem alright. Which films adapted from King's writings did you see in theatres?

You saw some classics, man. I, however, mostly saw the shitty newer ones because I was too young for my parents to take to scary movies when the best stuff was coming out. Then I was working at the theater when all the shitty remakes were coming out, and I was dumb enough to see a few of them:

Carrie (2013) - Pure trash. 2002 remake is better. Barely.
It: Chapter 1 (2017) - Decent Stranger Things cash-in, but Chapter 2 is garbage.
Dark Tower (2017) - SK's Last Action Hero, only not fun.
Pet Sematary (2019) - Completely inferior to the original.

At least I saw ONE King film in cinemas that I really liked:

Doctor Sleep (2019) - Solid sequel.

I think the only King film I saw in theaters was Dreamcatcher. Oh I did see Stand By Me at the drive-in.

EDIT: just remembered I saw The Mist and Lawnmower Man as well.

I forgot I also saw Stand By Me at the cinemas. I would have liked to seen The Mist on the big screen, it's one of my favorite King adaptations post 2000. Love that ending.
